Since 2006, undergraduate and alumni members of Delta Chi have joined forces to fight cancer with The V Foundation for Cancer Research. Each year, our chapters host various fundraising events and educate their members and campus communities on the importance of philanthropic giving to support cancer research. Our strong partnership with The V Foundation allows each donor to make a greater impact on finding cures for cancer than they could ever do on their own.

What is the V Foundation
Delta Chi is proud to have a philanthropic partnership with The V Foundation for Cancer Research. The late Jim Valvano, in partnership with ESPN, founded the V Foundation to provide cancer research grants. Endowed by ESPN, The V Foundation operates with no overhead costs, which allows all donations to be donated directly to cancer research. Since 1993, the V Foundation has awarded more than $290 million in cancer research grants and programs.
Delta Chi has been raising money for the V Foundation since 2006. As proud partners, we stand with them in the fight against cancer, by which we have all been affected in some way – whether personally, or through a friend or family member. Delta Chi is continuously raising the stakes in fundraising efforts to make a growing impact on the cause. For every $200,000 Delta Chi members raise, a grant to fund research is issued in the name of the Fraternity. These very grants may one day lead to a cure for cancer.
Week of Service
OCTOBER 6th – 13th
Delta Chi observes the International Week of Service each year during the week leading up to Founder’s Day. More than ever, our mission to advance justice within our communities through giving back is needed. Below are some ideas to help you think about ways to serve your community. As always, all efforts should be in line with campus, local, and state guidelines regarding COVID-19.
Tell Us About Your Service!
Highlight your efforts on social media using #DeltaChi or by tagging @deltachihq on Instagram (during or after Week of Service) and you may be featured on Delta Chi’s social media outlets.
Help a Local School
Reach out to your local school board to find out how you can support local schools.
Locate and Contact Your State Service Commission
Your State Service Commission can provide you with a number of different opportunities.
An important part of the fraternity experience is helping others. The organizational ability of Delta Chi chapters gives us an opportunity to perform volunteer efforts and service for others. Doing so will help you grow as a member and a leader as well as increase the respect for your chapter. It is important to plan service efforts that address the needs of the local community (either the institution or the town or city in which you live) as opposed to just doing projects that seem appealing to members.
Delta Chi believes that service is an integral part of the fraternity experience and helps develop men of high character. It is our hope that during the Week of Service, Delta Chi chapters will focus their collective energy toward benefiting their fellow man by hosting an event to improve the community or by providing for the less fortunate.
